Having lived, studied and worked on four continents, travel has been fundamental in making Michael who he is. Having spent many seasons ‘playing in the woods’ in northern Ontario as an Outdoor Educator and Guide, Michael then headed to Vancouver, where he embarked on a journey in tourism, travel and hospitality. After school Michael spent the next six years working on community-based tourism projects with hill tribes in Vietnam, teaching English and learning Chinese in Taiwan, developing cultural tourism products with an indigenous community in Western Australia and researching the economic impact of backpacker and student travel in Latvia. He got around.

But Michael has winter in his blood and has returned to plant roots in Toronto, where he currently works as a project coordinator for Ontario By Bike, a business certification program for Cycle Tourism development in Ontario. The program includes hosting regional tourism development workshops, conducting operator training programs and various marketing initiatives. Michael earned a Bachelor of Tourism Management, a Masters of Arts (Tourism), and a Project Management Institute designation, but knows it's the people you meet and the things you do outside of the classroom/office that makes this industry so rewarding. Let’s chat travel, music, technology, food and beer when we meet.
